SWIMMING POOL FALLA: March 19 (& April 23): The outline of a kidney shaped swimming pool was delineated into the ground and set on Fire. In the tradition of “Las Fallas,” a Paella was consumed. ( History of Las Fallas” explained below.)
HISTORY OF LAS FALLAS:
The tradition of Las Fallas begins in 16th Century Span, when carpenters would perform a spring-cleaning by setting ablaze the remnants of their workshops on March 19th, the Day of Saint Joseph. The tradition has evolved into the construction of elaborate wooden structures whose subject matter is both political and satirical in nature.
