The Banco Espiritu Santo building was to be torn down to make way for a new landmark bank building. Prior to doing so Fred Snitzer invited artist to exhibit work, in the building before the demolition.


I chose to use two of the offices as Shoppes, one being a “Love Store” and the other being a “Bird House”.

BIRD HOUSE:

Consisted of wallpapering the room with fuax-wood-grain contact paper. An opening remained in the window for a bird. The most recent issue of Playboy magazine was left on the shelf with the centerfold on the wall.

LOVE SHOPPE:

The Love Shoppe consisted of T-Shirts for sale that had an anatomical illustrated heart printed on them. A neon heart was also created to draw a critical mass. The song “I feel love” by Donna Summers played continually
